Breda Film Festival organises a special horror edition in October 2022
BREDA, June 9th, 2022 - It is with great pleasure that the organisation of the Breda Film Festival can announce the second edition. The festival will take place on the 1st of October and will once again be held in the Chassé Theatre. For the first time, the festival will feature a theme, as the visitors will dive into the world of horror movies. All details were revealed during an online press conference that took place on the 9th of June.
After the great success of the first edition, which was held in 2021 and completely sold out, it was clear to the organising team that a second edition would be inevitable. The Breda Film Festival is delighted that all stakeholders share this opinion and are willing to maintain their support. More stakeholders will be added, as DutchFilmWorks and Warner Bros will make their debut as exhibitors this year. Executive director Jarno Linnenbank is delighted to welcome them: “With DutchFilmWorks we can add the best film production company of the Netherlands to the line-up. Warner Bros is one of the largest film production companies in the world, and we cannot wait to welcome them to The Netherlands.” Movie distribution company Dimension Films will, just like last year, premiere their newest movies at the festival.
The world of horror movies
For the first time, the festival will have a theme. All activities, actors and movies will have a connection to horror. With this theme a night will be created for the hardcore horror fans as well as the general movie visitor with an interest in horror. At the press conference, Creative Director Valeria Ciobanu announced that none other than Johnny Depp will be a special guest at the festival, where he will share his experiences with acting in horror movies. Valeria says: “We are honoured that Johnny Depp is coming to the festival. This is a very unique opportunity for his fans, as they can meet him in a way they never did before.”
About the Breda Film Festival
The Breda Film Festival is organised by four students with a passion for movies. All students were born in different countries and have different nationalities: Executive Director & Press manager Jarno Linnenbank was born in The Netherlands, Creative Director Valeria Ciobanu is from Moldova, Executive Producer Larissa Binz is from Germany and Program Manager Gréta Égervári was born in Hungary. This diversity is the strength of the team and everyone is welcome at the Breda Film Festival. Although only one edition of the festival has taken place, the organisation has already become very professional. The Chassé Theatre is the home of the festival and will remain associated with the organisation for multiple years.
Practical information for the press
Due to the high interest from both national and international press, the festival will have a limited number of places available. Requests for interviews with actors, directors and the organising team can be sent to press manager Jarno Linnenbank. The organising team is striving to give local, national and international media equal chances. Also movie fan pages are allowed to apply.
The second edition of the Breda Film Festival will take place at the Chassé Theatre in Breda on the 1st of October 2022. More information on ticket sales will follow in July.
